OverviewThe Professional Development Workshop Series helps students identify, map, and acquire broad and transferable skills needed in today’s market, and focus on developing these skills within three domains – Personal Development, Career Preparation, and Communication Skills & Networking. Scheduled throughout the academic year, the workshops provide students with a cohesive and practical series centered around professional and personal development.
Focused on highlighting career opportunities across the public and commercial art world, professional development is an integral part of our courses. We invite art world professionals, many of whom have been through our programs, to meet current students, who have the opportunity to:
- Speak and connect with our global alumni community
- Network with professionals throughout the art world
- Discuss and identify career goals
- Learn strategies for furthering a career in the art world
- Apply for internships and employment opportunities
The hands-on training learned in the classroom, along with the practical skills gained during the professional development workshops, help our students acquire real-world experiences and skills needed in today’s job market.
The Christie’s Human Resources department works closely with us to highlight the opportunities available within the company. Students benefit from the network of Christie’s offices worldwide where opportunities can be found for internships and work experience.
