Overview
This four-day course will look at works of art painted during the Dutch Golden Age of the seventeenth century. Looking at paintings by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Franz Hals, Judith Leyster, Ruysdael, Jan Steen and Rachel Ruysch we will explore how this period brought about the development of new subjects in painting and created a new visual language to meets the needs of a new nation.
