Samantha Gilbert is a leader in the field of talent and organizational development, having led human resources within renowned organizations for more than 25 years. Ms Gilbert serves as an organizational and leadership coach, advising senior leaders on effective leadership and management skills, talent development and organizational culture. Ms Gilbert has had a long career working in creative knowledge-based organizations, across various sectors. She served as Vice President, Talent and Human Resources at the Ford Foundation, one of the world’s largest and oldest global philanthropic organizations. There she was responsible for guiding human resources strategy and talent management worldwide. In similar international leadership roles, Samantha served for seven years as chief human resources officer at the Rockefeller Foundation and spent a decade at Christie’s International, a multinational company with a diverse art business portfolio, where she rose to become senior vice president, global head of human resources. Ms Gilbert started her human resources career in New York City government before moving to the Jewish Museum in New York to lead the HR function. She began her career as a social worker in New York City’s public schools.
Ms Gilbert serves on the board of directors of Cool Culture (Chair elect effective January 2020), a nonprofit organization that works to ensure that New York City’s most under-served families have access to arts and culture to increase learning and opportunities. Ms Gilbert studied behavioral sciences and fine art and holds a master’s degree in public administration with a specialization in arts administration from New York University. Ms Gilbert also holds a certification in organizational and executive coaching from New York University.
