A half day course offering a unique, comparative perspective to appreciating Chinese ink paintings and Western oil paintings. Focusing on works by Zhang Daqian and Picasso, each a master of his own painting tradition, art historian Dr. Elaine Kwok will zoom in on the differences between "ink" and "oil". The market discussion and guided tour will focus on 20th century Chinese painters who explored and ultimately synthesized both artistic heritages, contributing to their historical importance and market value.
