Overview
Christie's Education is delighted to be the education support partner for the world's first major institutional crypto art exhibition - Virtual Niche, opening on 26 March at the UCCA Lab in Beijing, China until 4 April.
Featured artworks include Robert Alice's Portraits of a Mind, the first ever NFT artwork sold by Christie's, and a selection from Beeple's Everydays - The 2020 Collection, in addition to over 60 iconic crypto artworks by 30 contemporary artists.
Join us on 30 March, with Christie's Education APAC Director Sara Mao and Qinwen Wang, Producer of the Virtual Niche exhibition, for a conversation on "Valuing Art in the Digital Age". During this live stream, Sara will discuss how the art world is pivoting to create, display and transact art online, from the VR experiences to the digital archives at museums and institutions. On the other end of the spectrum, Qinwen will share how digital art and recent developments in NFTs and crypto art poses both challenges and opportunities for the traditional art world.
Stay tuned for our upcoming programmes on the exciting and developing crossroads of Art & Tech.
