Shuochun (Nina) Feng, Poly Auction, Hong Kong
Nina Feng is the Business Development and Art Gallery Executive at Poly Auction Hong Kong who is also leading the digital research as well as e-commerce planning.
In her research, Nina has visualized art history via GIS mapping and data visualizations tools, creating imaged-based provenance for artworks and providing new angels looking into art history topics, which has long been dominated by text-based research. Nina's research has also been able to offer new art historical models for Foujita Tsuguharu, unveiling the reawakening domestic interests in Japan for this once deported war artist, providing substantial quantitative evidence for empirical knowledge. Also, because of her intensive experience in the Japanese art market, Nina enriches her quantitative research with unique qualitative insights.
Nina holds her B.A. in mathematics and history from Wesleyan University, and M.A. in digital humanities from Duke University. Nina’s articles are also featured in major art medias of China such as the China Collections and The Collection.
